Well a long way back I set off from Calgary on an overnight bus. As disappointed as I was at not getting the chance to cycle the Rockies, I was at least consoled that I'd now be able to fit a few other stops in. First on the list was to visit the clan McWilliams at their summer cabin near 100 Mile House. I was picked up at the bus stop by a grinning Jim - it had been over 4 years since I last saw the McWilliams when I was doing a student exchange at Emily Carr Art School in Vancouver. It was very good to see them again!

Bells & Water;
love of bells and water,
wind-chimes, flutes, creeks and brooks,
bicycle bells ring out enlightenment
on forest mountain roads
wind catches all.

The cabin and its surroundings were stunning. It was easy to see why they loved to spend so much time there. I had the chance to meet a few more of the extending clan McWilliams and rest by the lake, quite content not to be cycling everyday.
I was also helped to catch my first rainbow trout (which made a delicous breakfast!).
It was a really great way to unwind after all the stresses of the road and let the cries of loons and the creek lull me to sleep in the hammock.

A great thanks to all the McWilliams (and Turbo)!
